Museum of Contemporary Art

The Museum of Contemporary Art located by the water at Circular Quay West, overlooking the Sydney Opera House is Australia's leading contemporary art museum. The MCA's exhibition program includes the work of both Australian and international artists, and embraces diverse media, from painting, sculpture and design to electronic forms and the moving image. Open daily 10am - 5pm. Admission FREE.

Museums Australia works on behalf of its members to promote the role of museums and galleries in society and to foster excellence in museum practice. Museums Australia provides a range of products and professional development services to members and the museum and galleries sector.

Museums Australia (SA Branch)

The Museums Australia South Australia Branch is a network of people working in galleries, museums, botanic gardens, historical societies and heritage sites across the State.  Members of the national association who are based in South Australia are automatically members of the SA Branch. Each year, the Branch Committee organises a number of networking and professional events to support its members. The branch hosts a regular networking breakfast at a city cafe on the first Friday of every month (except January).

Music Australia

Music Australia is the only body in Australia devoted to music in its entirety.

As a national umbrella body we are a passionate advocate, a sector focused researcher, a comprehensive information portal, a broker, and a provider of informed and relevant services. Our activities span music education, industry and community sectors to deliver campaigns, information, resources, engagement, and participation and demonstration projects.

Music Broadcasting Society of South Australia Inc (Radio 5MBS)

The Music Broadcasting Society of South Australia Inc, broadcasts fine music to Adelaide listeners under the call sign 5MBS. We have a commitment to provide a top quality service, reflecting the listening needs of music lovers. While mainly classical music, our programming also includes many hours a week of jazz. It is 5MBS policy to include a proportion of Australian compositions and performances in its programming, especially concerts and recitals recorded in Adelaide. We provide concert recordings free to performers, and also use them on air in certain programs.

Music Council of Australia

A national peak music organisation offering information through the website, weekly email bulletins, quarterly magazine Music Forum. Advocacy for music nationally and internationally. Research into issues of current importance such as music education, music broadcasting. Programs include:
  • Music. Play for Life - a national campaign for music education and music making;
  • Music In Communities;
  • Early Music Network Australia;
  • MCA/Freedman Fellowships.

Music Development Office

The Music Development Office (MDO) is a joint initiative of the Department of State Development and Arts SA, intended to facilitate and support the development of the South Australia’s music industry by supporting both creative and business development. The MDO strategically links creative exploration with industry development, through the resources of Innovation and Industry and Arts SA, to support professional artists and businesses working in the South Australian music industry.

Music on the Murray

The Music on the Murray Festival encompasses a celebration of the River Murray through music and artistic collaboration. The festival includes 'the culture of the River Murray' River Murray Art Show which includes the River Murray Art Prize and the jewel in the crown Saturday night performance of the Waikerie Hotel Music on the Murray.

Music SA

The South Australian Contemporary Music Company Ltd T/As Music SA (formerly AusmusicSA) was established on July 23, 1997. Music SA is a not-for-profit organisation committed to promoting, supporting and developing contemporary music in South Australia. Music SA delivers projects for the benefit of the SA Music Industry including
  • A comprehensive SA Music Industry website
  • Contemporary music workshops and training programs in schools
  • Professional Development, Advice and Consultancy service for SA artists and practitioners
