Exhibiting since 2014, this biennial series of the prestigious Adelaide Park Lands Art Prize will again take place in 2018. This is a major art prize, with a prize pool of $33,000 in 2018 and is initiated by the Adelaide Park Lands Preservation Association (APPA) to highlight through art the beauty and fragility of the Park Land belt that surrounds the city of Adelaide. The prize is open to all artists, of all ages, from all countries, working in 2 or 3-dimensional art forms. Artists are encouraged to make a statement or capture the essence of the Adelaide Park Lands. Urban parks with complimentary and yet contradictory spaces can be compellingly inspirational for artists. The Adelaide Park Lands Art Prize is an opportunity for artists to make a statement or convey the many faces of the Adelaide Park Lands and their value in our urban setting. Adelaide is the only city in the world to be surrounded by Park Lands; a design heritage that requires recognition and conservation.
