Frank Yamma is a traditional Pitjantjatjara man from Australia's central desert, currently residing in Brompton, South Australia. Yamma began performing on stage with his widely renowned musician father, the late Isaac Yamma at the age of nine. His debut solo album Countryman was recorded in 2010 and released through not-for-profit Wantok Musik Label at the 2010 Australasian World Music Expo in Melbourne, immediately attracting rave reviews internationally and invitations to play at festivals and to perform headline shows throughout Australia. In 2011, Yamma toured and released the album in the UK and Europe. His forthcoming tour of the UK and Europe in July/August 2012 will see him perform at prestigious festivals including the BT River of Music, part of the London 2012 Olympic Festival; WOMAD 2012 in Wiltshire, England; Sidmouth Festival in England; Hebridean Celtic Festival in Scotland; and the BLED Festival in Slovenia; together with a string of live music venue and arts center performances.
