Cathy Adamek is an independent artist performing as an actor and dancer with many companies, including State Opera South Australia, State Theatre Company of South Australia, Mainstreet Theatre and Country Arts SA Touring, Independent Theatre and the Bakehouse Theatre. Most recently she performed in the feature film The Babadook starring Essie Davis to be released 2013, and completed a national tour of her show Polecats in February 2013 opening at the the Sydney Opera House, which she directed and produced. Film and TV credits include the feature film Cut, McLeod's Daughters, Beat the Chef, Here's Humphrey which she went on to produce and choreograph and was a presenter on Out Of the Ordinary for NWS 9. She has appeared in many long running TVCs. In 2007 she choreographed and danced in the premier season of Polecats at the Adelaide Fringe winning a weekly Advertiser award for Best Show. She choreographed and performed original music/dance theatre at Sydney Opera House, Adelaide Festival, Barossa Music Festival. She has performed and dramaturged in many creative developments funded by Arts SA and Australia Council. She was artistic director of Bluetongue Theatre, producing and directing from 2002-2007. Since the birth of her son, she continues to work as a leading voiceover artist and is a PhD candidate with an APA scholarship.
